Tender (For the Fire)

would you reach into my fervent fire?

would you let me kiss the places

the flames will soon wear down?

stories fall from cracked lips,

yours painted invisible gold,

shining bright at night

under soggy saplings.

make me whole-

make me yours-

make me beautiful,

kintsugi

Tracing your grooves as the record plays,

the hardness of your skin

singing silent songs,

speaking subtle stories

of the endless shapes you form

would you strike a match with me?

we could smell the sulfur intertwine

with this endless, pouring rain
