Movie Night

The moon felt so big

The stars had to make room

They fell across the softly woven sky

Right in front of our tired eyes

It was nearly midnight

You didn’t let me walk home

We cracked the windows of your roommate’s car

We exhaled our fears like stale smoke

I sat in the passenger seat

You turned the key left

The static died out

The silence asked us to speak

We both had a lot to say

The season had not been easy

A cold winter lie ahead

I felt the warmth of your breath
